Rules:

1. Membership of the Association though it is primarily intended for Driving Instructors operating in Sussex shall be open to any Instructor who wishes to join the Association.

2. The minimum annual subscription shall be £15, which will become due at the launch of the Association and on the anniversary each year.

3. The direction and control of the Association shall be vested in an Executive Committee which shall consist of Chairman, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Secretary and at least two other members, and which shall have power to co-opt additional at its discretion, and to fill casual vacancies of the Executive Committee.  The Executive Committee shall meet at such times and places as shall be decided by the Chairman and Honorary Secretary and shall remain in direction and control of the Association until new members of the Executive Committee for the ensuing year have been elected.  The Chairman, Honorary Secretary and one other member of the Executive Committee shall have the power to deal with urgent and other such matters within the competence of the Association, provided that such action is subsequently laid before the Executive Committee for approval and endorsement.

4. If a member of the Executive Committee is absent from any two consecutive meetings without tendering their apologies then they are to be removed from the Executive Committee.

5. An Annual General Meeting of the Association shall be held on the anniversary of the launch each year, at which the Executive Committee for the ensuing year shall be elected and a report of activities of the previous year shall be presented.  Accounts to be made up to 31^st August of the previous year, audited by a member of the Executive Committee.  At least twenty-one days notice of such Annual General Meeting shall be sent to each member at their last known address.

6. A special General Meeting to be convened in the same manner as an Annual General Meeting, may be called by the Executive Committee at any time at its discretion, or shall be called upon a requisition signed be not less than 10 members of the Association.

7. No change shall be made in the objects or rules of the Association except at a General Meeting.  At least sixty days notice of any proposed change shall be given to the Honorary Secretary in writing and notice of such proposal shall be given by him/her in the notice convening the General Meeting.

8. Quorum for Meetings:-

• A quorum for General Meetings shall be either the Chairman, or the Honorary Secretary and 4 other members.

• A quorum for an Executive Committee Meeting shall be either the Chairman, or the Honorary Secretary and 4 other members.
